Citizen's Police Academy

Submit an application for the next class, see ONLINE FORMS...

The Citizens' Academy is an eleven week program designed to give participants a working knowledge of the Euclid Police Department and its operational methods.  It consists of a series of classes and discussion held one evening per week from 6:30-10:00pm.  There are two sessions of the academy per year, and each session is limited to 20 students.  There is no cost to any participant.

The classes will provide an in-depth view into various areas of law enforcement.  It is an educational and informative program that allows citizens the opportunity to learn about issues that affect law enforcement efforts in the City of Euclid.

One of the goals of the Academy is to help the residents of Euclid better understand how the police work in their communities.  It is hoped that all graduates of the Academy will get to know more about the men and women who are protecting their community and why they make the decisions they do while performing that duty.

When residents take a more personal interest in their city, and the protection of their community and neighborhoods, they will enjoy a safer and closer relationship with their neighbors.

In addition, graduates will be encouraged to join the Citizen Police Academy Alumni Association.  Membership in this non-profit organization allows the opportunity for continued education in the field of law enforcement and other related areas.  It also enables a more interactive association with the police department.

Applications may be obtained at the Police Department lobby or at Online Services and may be returned at any time.  Applications are held until the class starts, and those who pre-register are given favor for participation.

For further information, contact training supervisor  (Department Directory) at (216) 289-2711 or by email.
