Juvenile Diversion
Eligibility
Generally, juveniles (under the age of 18) who are accused of unruly offenses will be eligible for referral to the Juvenile Diversion Program. Consideration will be given to those accused of delinquent acts. Offenses involving sex offenses and violent crimes will be excluded, except if special circumstances exist. Generally, felony violators will not be eligible for the Diversion Program.
Criteria for referral to the Juvenile Diversion Program would include but are not limited to the following:
Parental & juvenile agreement to participate in the program.
Victim's agreement to diversion.
Restitution.
Officer recommendation for diversion.
Juvenile's history:
Prior involvement in unruly acts.
Severity of crime for which the juvenile is accused.
Review of school records for grades attendance & disciplinary problems.
The juvenile's involvement in social or religious organizations and/or organized school extra-curricular activity, which would tend to support the goals of the program.
Mental and physical ability to voluntarily participate in the program.
Participants must be Euclid residents.
