Officer Ivaskovic Accepts Checkpoint Awards

On Tuesday, January 27, more than 150 law enforcement officers and public safety professionals joined together at LaCentre in Westlake to recognize and thank the law enforcement agencies and officers who work tirelessly throughout the year to keep our roadways safe.

The 41 police departments who form the Cuyahoga County DUI/Reckless Driving Reduction Task Force work together throughout the year to protect Greater Clevelanders through a combination of enforcement efforts and public information and education to get reckless, aggressive, and impaired drivers off our roadways before they can hurt themselves or someone else. At the annual recognition luncheon, Task Force members were recognized for progress in reducing fatal and injury motor vehicle crashes in the metro Cleveland area, promoting seat belt use, and combating our region’s impaired driving problem.

University Hospitals, as lead agency for the Greater Cleveland Safe Kids/Safe Communities Coalition, presented awards to recognize individuals and departments for their efforts to reduce fatal and injury motor vehicle crashes in the metro Cleveland area.

Euclid Police Department received awards for Patrol Productivity: Seat Belt & CPS Citations Per Hour, Checkpoint Productivity Diversion and OVI Arrests.  Soon to be retired Officer Ivan Ivaskovic accepted the awards on behalf of the Euclid Police Department.
